Steer Steve with the cursor - he's a simple man. Have Steve toss TNT with the left mouse button, and Steve will dash whenever you press the right mouse button.

By madly dashing toward enemy places (well, maybe not the big ones) you can catch them unaware and sometimes blow them up. This is a strategy best used early on when you've got nothing to lose.
