Arae is an intense game of strategy and wit. You have 4 skillshots, each are chosen by you and each do something special. You can choose to have 4 of the same item, if you choose, but they will all have separate cool downs. You upgrade your chosen skills by farming red squares for XP, when you face other players, however, it won't be so easy.

WASD to move around Mouse to Aim and Shoot Right click or Spacebar for skills Scroll Wheel or 1,2,3,4 to select skills

Choose skills that fit your play style, and don't be afraid to repeat them if you really like one particular skill. Also, you can use your skills to slay red boxes, gaining xp in a much faster way than simple shooting them.
